UNFPA and the Bangladesh Police launched Standard Operating Procedures for survivors of gender Based Violence

UNFPA and the Bangladesh Police today launched Standard Operating Procedures which will guide the work of police officers across Bangladesh when dealing with survivors of gender based violence. This guideline will serve as a practical tool for the police to ensure gender-sensitive and effective case management and referral. Mr. AKM Shahidul Haque, the IGP of Bangladesh Police ensured that officers across the country would do their best to prevent gender based violence and respond to cases of violence against girls and women. Mr. Iori Kato, Officer in Charge at UNFPA highlighted the importance of ensuring comprehensive services to survivors including health, legal and justice support and thanked the police for their dedication.
